The Dark Shadows - Sour Candy

Sydney is a cloud full of colour, the attraction for souls trying to fly through everyday life with the propensity to smile, in the middle of the turns of fatigued existences but willing to travel in the sun's rays.

Among those who best express all this are certainly three girls with huge hearts and hands capable of conveying positivity even when the topics they deal with have their breath inside disappointment, doubts, requests (rightly kept veiled) for clarity.

The Dark Shadows are back, one song and everything becomes lamplight, ecstasy, amazement in the play of notes full of wind. 

The fairy Brigitte Handley writes words of shattered glass, about a broken relationship, and to do so she travels in depth to extrapolate those elements of relations that can crack the heart, the skin, the meaning of existence.

But, as with many Smiths songs, the supporting music is joyful, full of energy, able to bring us the attitudes typical of the new continent so that we can face it all with great strength.

Ned Wu (drums), Carly Chalker (bass player) and Brigitte Handley (voice, guitar), are back with an intense, melodic, fresh track, a trip with the surfboard over the waves of the Australian sky, to establish a connection between different but well-blended musical genres, in which their propensity to give rhythm and melody their embrace to the 60s, the undeniable source of inspiration for this truly explosive trio, stands out. The result is a vortex rich in easily digestible juices, addictive and with the power to push us to repeated listenings, an adventure inside their coffers that makes us dance, not dreamy for sure, but aware that from a grey-tinged story one can find an incentive to change direction.

With an impetuous start, followed by a pause that shows their sublime qualities, the track arrives at the true beginning of the verse after 44 seconds, and we quickly find ourselves inside the conviction that we needed music like this, passionate and true, stratospheric in its embrace, perfectly produced, without any tension drop.

Sour Candy teaches the meaning of legitimate communication towards those who cause pain, and the answer is a joyful song: hats off!👏❤️🇦🇺

The Dark Shadows - Sour Candy

Sydney è una nuvola piena di colori, l’attrazione per le anime che cercano di volare dentro la quotidianità con la propensione al sorriso, tra le pieghe di esistenze affaticate ma vogliose di viaggiare tra i raggi del sole.

Tra chi meglio riesce a esprimere tutto questo ci sono sicuramente tre ragazze dal cuore enorme e dalle mani capaci di veicolare positività anche quando gli argomenti trattati hanno il respiro dentro la delusione, i dubbi, le richieste (giustamente tenute velate) di chiarezza.

The Dark Shadows tornano a farsi vive, una canzone e tutto si fa lampada, estasi, stupore nel gioco di note piene di vento. 

La fata Brigitte Handley scrive parole di vetro rotto, su una relazione finita, e per farlo viaggia in profondità per estrapolare quegli elementi dei rapporti che possono far crepare il cuore, la pelle, il senso dell’esistenza.

Ma, come per molti brani degli Smiths, la musica a supporto è gioiosa, carica di energia, in grado di portarci le attitudini del nuovo continente per poter affrontare il tutto con grande forza.

Ned Wu (drums), Carly Chalker (bass player) e Brigitte Handley (voice, guitar), sono tornate con un brano intenso, melodico, fresco, un viaggio con la tavola da surf sulle onde del cielo australiano, per stabilire un contatto tra generi musicali diversi ma ben amalgamati, nel quale spicca la loro propensione a dare al ritmo e alla melodia il loro abbraccio agli anni 60, fonte di ispirazione innegabile di questo terzetto davvero esplosivo. Il risultato è un vortice ricco di succhi, facilmente digeribili, che crea dipendenza per ascolti che si sommano a ripetizione, un’avventura dentro i loro forzieri che ci rende danzanti, non sognanti di certo, ma consapevoli che da una storia a tinte grigie si possa trovare lo stimolo per virare.

Con un impetuoso attacco, seguito da una sospensione che mette in mostra le loro eccelse qualità, la canzone arriva al vero inizio della strofa dopo 44 secondi, e velocemente ci si ritrova dentro la convinzione che avevamo bisogno di musica come questa, appassionata e verace, stratosferica nel suo abbraccio, prodotta in modo perfetto, senza cali di tensione.

Sour Candy insegna il senso della legittima comunicazione nei confronti di chi causa dolore e la risposta è un brano gioioso: hats off👏❤️🇦🇺
