Whimsical - Rewind

The possibility of getting back a dream, a star, a memory, a much needed breath of air.

The desire to rewind the tape and live again, to be able to stop time to consume it one more time, as an infinite pleasure which defeats time. As a challenge and not the ability/willingness to surrender that has become evident.

Because rewinding also means getting closer, modifying destiny and reopening a path that had proved to be contrary.

We welcome songs that make us capable of opposing the ineluctable, of putting sugar on bitter days, of conveying in the same place needs and what destiny has taken far away.

Whimsical comes back and gives us three minutes and fifty-seven seconds of a magical web, made of robust rhythm and melodies that gravitate inside our pupils, awakening joy and at the same time making us think, which is a rare and precious thing.

Krissy and Neil decide to offer us the appetizer of their next album "Melt" and this song reconfirm us their class with an intense dose of surprises and freshness, as bearers of a musical direction that at the same time affirms what we knew about them and shows new elements able to amaze us and make our mouths open in a decisive and bright smile.

After the first seconds marked by a powerful and contaminating guitar, here comes a stop and go which introduces us to a perfect and innovative electronica, to then welcome Krissy's vocals, this fairy who tells us things that are also challenging, but doing it in a way that makes it possible to accept everything without losing confidence.

And it is memory, specifying the will to contact those who have slipped from one's hands, finding the way back into the heart.

The drumming, powerful, syncopated, positioned on the banks of a bass that runs swaggering giving further vitamins to a sinuous and courageous guitar, lends the song all the right credentials of a gust of wind that brings the ambitions to become reality.

You can hear the maturity in the composition, the desire to give elegance the chance to dress up instinct and reasoning, to lead us towards the certainty that their songs are a chance to grow and not just a pleasant listening. The lyrics show that some strong desires do not have to be shouted, but rather whispered, leaving the door open to meet the desired change.

They are beautiful tears the ones that we hear crying... but they are not sad and Neil has once again managed to make possible his nature of rhythm, combining it with the strength of textures faithful to poetry.

If we wanted to find new forces in these difficult times REWIND will be the muse and companion of a future that will come to colour the sky blue, because when you can rewind it means that you have removed the propensity of the past to end up among the rubbish.

Congratulations Whimsical: this is what we needed!

Whimsical - Rewind

La possibilità di riprendere un sogno, una stella, un ricordo, una boccata di aria di cui si sente il bisogno.

Il desiderio di riavvolgere il nastro e rivivere, poter fermare il tempo per consumarlo ancora, come piacevolezza infinita che sconfigge il tempo. Come sfida e non capacità/volontà di una resa che si è fatta evidente.

Perché riavvolgere è anche riavvicinarsi, modificare il destino e riaprire un percorso che si era dimostrato contrario.

Ben vengano canzoni che ci rendono capaci di contrastare l’ineluttabile, di mettere zucchero sui giorni amari, di convogliare nello stesso posto i bisogni e ciò che il destino ha portato lontano.

Whimsical torna e ci regala tre minuti e cinquantasette secondi di una magica ragnatela, fatta di ritmo robusto e melodie che gravitano dentro le nostre pupille, risvegliando la gioia e allo stesso tempo facendoci ragionare, cosa rara e preziosa.

Krissy e Neil decidono di offrirci l’antipasto del prossimo album “ Melt” e questa canzone ci riconsegna la loro classe con una dose intensa di sorprese e freschezza, come portatori di una direzione musicale che al contempo conferma di loro ciò che conoscevamo e mostra elementi nuovi che stupiscono e ci dilatano la bocca in un sorriso deciso e luminoso.

Dopo i primi secondi segnati da una chitarra dal fare potente e contaminante, ecco arrivare uno stop and go che ci introduce ad una elettronica perfetta e innovativa, per poi accogliere il cantato di Krissy, la fata che racconta cose anche impegnative, ma lo fa in un modo che rende possibile accettare il tutto non perdendo la fiducia.

Ed è memoria, lo specificare volontà di contattare chi è scivolato dalle proprie mani, trovando il modo di ritornare nel cuore.

Il drumming, potente, sincopato, posizionato sulle sponde di un basso che corre spavaldo dando vitamine ulteriori ad una chitarra sinuosa e coraggiosa, conferisce al brano tutti i crismi di una folata di vento che porta le velleità a diventare realtà.

Si sente la maturità nella composizione, la volontà di dare alla eleganza la possibilità di vestire l’istinto ed il raziocinio, per condurci verso la certezza che le loro canzoni sono una possibilità di crescita e non solo un ascolto piacevole. Il testo mostra che certi forti desideri non debbano essere urlati, bensì sussurrati lasciando la porta aperta per poter incontrare il cambiamento desiderato.

Sono lacrime bellissime quelle che sentiamo piangere…però non sono tristi e Neil è riuscito ancora una volta a rendere possibile la sua indole al ritmo coniugandola alla forza di trame fedeli alla poesia.

Se volevamo trovare forze nuove in questi tempi difficili REWIND sarà musa e compagna di un futuro che arriverà a colorare il cielo di blu, perché quando si può riavvolgere significa che si è tolto al passato la propensione di finire tra i rifiuti.
