Impossible Tymes - Popadelic

Dreamy Greece, far removed from poverty and the drudgery of living, rises from the ground and dives into miraculous songs, pulsating with life impossible to sustain and therefore fascinating and mysterious. The band gives the title to this compilation by reusing the title of their second Ep (now unobtainable) and inserts three covers that will leave many souls stunned. Shrugging off mistrust and perplexity, given their place of origin, the Impossible Tymes approach it all with the right amount of mistrust and throw themselves into the mix of Dreampop, Seventies psychedelia and even the most surprising Indie pop.

Released by SHELFLIFE Records, always careful to give prominence to voices that want to paint musical poetry, here these 12 tracks will make you spend a few minutes of magnetic dance without frills, you will be enveloped by the magic and the subtle feeling that in the 90s there were those who made music a serious and concrete game, to create a Pop that had a meaning still unexplored.

La Grecia sognante e distante dalla povertà, dalla fatica del vivere si alza dal terreno e si tuffa in canzoni miracolose, pulsanti di vita impossibile da sostenere e quindi affascinanti e misteriose. La band dà il titolo a questa compilation riutilizzando quello del loro secondo Ep (introvabile ormai) e inserisce tre cover che lasceranno di stucco molte anime. Sciogliendo diffidenza e perplessità, visto il luogo di provenienza, gli Impossible Tymes affrontano il tutto con la giusta dose di menefreghismo e si gettano nella miscela del Dreampop, della Psichedelia anni Settanta, sino all’Indie pop più sorprendente.

Pubblicata dalla SHELFLIFE Records, sempre attenta a dare risalto alle voci che vogliono dipingere poesia musicale, ecco che queste 12 tracce vi faranno passare qualche minuto di magnetica danza senza fronzoli, sarete avvolti dalla magia e dalla sottile sensazione che negli anni ’90 c’era chi faceva della musica un gioco serio e concreto, per creare un Pop che avesse un significato ancora inesplorato.

My Raining Stars - The life we planned

There are fascinating stories in the paths of some artists, that should be known and embraced. They are made up of great passions, obstinacy and a will to live music that should be popular to become an example.

One of these is called Thierry Haliniak, a musician from Saint-Sauveur-en-Puisaye, now domiciled in Auxerre, who, starting from his passion for the musical genre named C-86 (later turned into Dreampop), absorbed all the love (as the scribe) for the fabulous independent label Sarah Records and afterwards for Creation Records, to live, as a consequence, an experience in the band Nothing To Be Done.

These members shared the stage with artists such as Moose, Adorable and The Boo Radleys. After that period, Thierry continued to play his songs until he formed his own project under the name My Raining Stars. He found in his path the support and contribution of Danish musician Casper Blond, thus being able to work serenely on the development of his songs and, after a debut LP in 2008, he saw some Eps clearly manifest his qualities. Until arriving at this last record, The Life We Planned, which is the epitome of his limpid talent, full of poetry and lightness, harmonic flights where nothing is synthesised but rather evolved and rendered capable of reaching heights from which all his worth dominates our need to listen to brushstrokes of sweetness combined with his delicate and penetrating voice.

Here comes What Can We Do, a sensual demonstration of lightness blended with enveloping harmony.

With Mirror his old love for Sarah Records bands is highlighted, with this afternoon fresco of aptitude in playing enveloping rhythmic guitars, supported by keyboards that work almost covertly but do so delightfully.

When Summer's Gone arrives, the heart leaps with joy and becomes addicted to this poignant composition with a seductive guitar and a bass work which underlines its value. A resounding gem that must be loved without question.

On His Own brings the love of the evolution of 90s Dreampop, gliding with agility in a well-shaped Alternative that gives two musical genres the possibility of perfect coexistence.

The title song completes the Ep. And it is an emotional addiction, the senses embrace in this splendid photograph of the mood where life presents itself with shyness, almost with petals of sadness that is dominated but to which space is not denied. And Thierry's voice is perfect for giving it the face of a caress that can then pick up rhythm to fly within us.

A great work that deserves an enthusiastic approach from those who will fall in love with it. The scribe has succeeded and is now filled with gratitude and has no doubt that it will be the same for you.

Ci sono storie affascinanti nei percorsi di alcuni artisti, andrebbero conosciute e abbracciate. Sono fatte di grandi passioni, ostinazioni e di una volontà di vivere la musica che dovrebbero essere note per divenire un esempio.

Una di queste ha come nome Thierry Haliniak, musicista di Saint-Sauveur-en-Puisaye, ora domiciliato ad Auxerre, che, partendo dalla sua passione per il genere musicale denominato C-86 (trasformatosi poi nel nome Dreampop), ha assorbito tutto l’amore (come lo scriba) per la favolosa etichetta indipendente Sarah Records e successivamente per la Creation, per vivere, come conseguenza, una esperienza nella band Nothing To Be Done.

Quei ragazzi divisero il palco con artisti del calibro di Moose, Adorable e The Boo Radleys. Finito quel periodo Thierry continuò a suonare pezzi propri sino ad arrivare a formare un proprio progetto scegliendo il nome My Raining Stars. Trovò nel suo cammino il sostegno e il contributo del musicista Danese Casper Blond, potendo così lavorare serenamente allo sviluppo delle sue canzoni e, dopo un Lp di esordio nel 2008, vide degli Ep manifestare in modo evidente le sue qualità. Sino ad approdare a quest’ultimo, The Life We Planned, che è il sunto del suo limpido talento, colmo di poesia e leggerezza, voli armonici dove nulla viene sintetizzato bensì evoluto e reso in grado di raggiungere vette da cui tutto il suo valore domina il nostro bisogno di morbida propensione ad ascoltare pennellate di dolcezza coniugate alla sua voce delicata e penetrante.

Ecco giungere What Can We Do, una sensuale dimostrazione di leggerezza connessa a una armonia avvolgente.

Con Mirror si evidenzia il suo antico amore per le band della Sarah Records, con questo affresco pomeridiano di attitudine nel suonare chitarre ritmiche avvolgenti, con il supporto di una tastiera che lavora quasi segretamente ma lo fa in modo delizioso.

Quando arriva Summer’s Gone il cuore salta con gioia e diventa dipendente da questa struggente composizione con una chitarra seducente e il lavoro di un basso che ne evidenzia il valore. Chicca clamorosa che va amata senza dubbi.

On His Own porta in dono l’amore dell’evoluzione del Dreampop degli anni 90, planando con agilità in un Alternative ben plasmato e capace di dare a due generi musicali la possibilità di una perfetta convivenza.

Completa l’Ep la canzone che gli dà il titolo. Ed è dipendenza emotiva, i sensi si abbracciano in questa splendida fotografia dell’umore dove la vita si presenta con timidezza, quasi con petali di tristezza che viene dominata ma a cui non si nega lo spazio. E la voce di Thierry è perfetta per darle il volto di una carezza capace poi di prendere ritmo per volare dentro di noi.

Grandissimo lavoro che merita un approccio entusiasta da parte di chi avrà modo di innamorarsene. Lo scriba ci è riuscito e ora è colmo di riconoscenza e non ha dubbi che sarà così anche per voi.
