Music is in need of peace signs, of easing its nerves inside our days, to become a place where notes are a collective well-being again. Beth and Emily, two artists full of goodwill and quality, distributors of soft blankets, do this with their songs that are truly a beacon in the midst of the blackness. They point the way and not the direction: with them we are in the materialisation of dreams and good cheer. Using the characteristics of country wearing folk feathers and light but not silly pop, we find ourselves whistling, dancing with smiles and a zest for life. Because there's a There Ain't Nothing in each of us....

La musica abbisogna di segnali di pace, di distendere i suoi nervi dentro le nostre giornate, per tornare a essere un luogo dove le note siano un benessere collettivo. Ci pensano Beth e Emily, due artiste piene di buona volontà e di qualità, distributrici di morbide coperte, con le loro canzoni che sono davvero un faro in mezzo al nero. Indicano il senso e non la direzione: con loro noi siamo nella  materializzazione dei sogni e del buonumore. Adoperando le caratteristiche del country che indossa piume di folk e di un pop leggero ma non stupido, ecco che ci ritroviamo a fischiettare, a ballare con i sorrisi e tanta voglia di vivere. Perché c’è una There Ain’t Nothing in ognuno di noi…

How beautiful are the Americans who don't give a fuck about the present and keep the memory of their musical journey alive, even at the expense of success: they are to be loved, no matter what!

Take Texan Vasquez and delve deep into his sonic instincts: one travels, with extreme class, in the blue, in the sun, in warmth, in positivity, with passages that cross landscapes that are folk, country, blues, alternative, rock, always with the shrewdness of being able to respect the codes, the rules, where transgression is only a stupid aspect of freedom. The album teaches us to recognise that there is a great deal still to be written, without having to rely on the anxiety of progress. Eleven arrows, bookmarks, paths, drops of wisdom that grow within the heart of this delicate and respectful artist, who truly succeeds in moving with his rich simplicity...

Che belli che sono gli Americani che se ne fottono del presente e tengono viva la memoria del loro percorso musicale, anche a discapito del successo: sono da amare, a prescindere!

Si prenda il Texano Vasquez e si approfondisca bene il suo istinto sonoro: si viaggia, con estrema classe, nell’azzurro, nel sole, nel calore, nella positività, con passaggi che attraversano paesaggi che sono folk, country, blues, alternative, rock, sempre con l’accortezza di essere capaci di rispettare i codici, le regole, dove la trasgressione è solo uno stupido aspetto della libertà. L’album insegna a riconoscere che vi è un immenso da scrivere ancora, senza doversi affidare all’ansia del progresso. Undici frecce, segnalibri, sentieri, gocce di saggezza che crescono dentro il cuore di questo artista così delicato e rispettoso, che riesce davvero a emozionare con la sua ricca semplicità…

 Walleater- Money Where Your Mouth Is

The Noise/Fuzz community is increasingly feeding on stimuli from distances never thought accessible. The Leeds band is exceptional in this respect, able to be fluid in its dynamism, and this song fully demonstrates this, like a serious game that amazes as it enriches with its contribution to the development of new possibilities. The opening bass is from the history of the instrument, then what you hear condenses into a sensuality that comes through the singing and the wah wah of the guitar, which makes everything sound so beautifully from the seventies. The lyrics are a mature list of desires and actions, with a deep irony that is conveyed from afar. The song is a perfect bridge: we move through time and the music gives the confidence that we are listening to a small diamond rolling around inside our brains...

 Walleater- Money Where Your Mouth Is

La comunità Noise/Fuzz si sta sempre più nutrendo di stimoli che provengono da distanze mai credute accessibili. La band di Leeds, sotto questo aspetto, è eccezionale, capace di essere fluida nella sua dinamicità e questa canzone lo dimostra pienamente, come un gioco serio che stupisce, perché arricchisce grazie al suo contributo nello sviluppo di nuove possibilità. Il basso iniziale è da storia dello strumento, poi ciò che si ascolta si condensa in una sensualità che passa attraverso il cantato e il wah wah della chitarra, che fa sembrare ogni cosa così splendidamente proveniente dagli anni Settanta. Il testo è un maturo elenco di desideri e di azioni, con una profonda ironia che viene trasmessa da lontano. Il brano è un ponte perfetto: ci si sposta nel tempo e la musica conferisce la sicurezza che stiamo ascoltando un piccolo diamante che rotola dentro il nostro cervello…

La mia Recensione: Mantarochen - Glaza

 Mantarochen - Glaza

Il vento gelido della storia tedesca non si arresta, non può, non vuole, soprattutto non deve. In quella parte centrale dell’Europa la musica è una donna che viene presa e scaraventata sul tetto per guardarla, a debita distanza, e impararne i trucchi. Poi la si riporta giù e si riceve uno schiaffo, perché i diritti sono stati calpestati. Ascolti questo brano e capisci che Lipsia è l’emblema di quella Nazione, la madre e la figlia di ogni esercizio di crescita. Prendi la canzone, un lungo elenco di richiami, che vengono subito stoppati, mostrando una evoluzione. Il Post-Punk è ancora inesplorato, nelle sue potenzialità, il gruppo lo sa e lo dimostra: fiuta nell’acciaio delle chitarre e del basso, confida nel drumming e va via, tra le strade piene di dubbi dei nostri ascolti beati. È una voglia invasata dal desiderio di ripetersi, la voce è sottile ma nevrotica, tutto propende a ricordarci gli arpeggi Darkwave della fine degli anni Settanta (Joy Division in primis), sino ad andare in Italia con i Diaframma. Si rischia molto ascoltando Glaza: come dare un pugno a chi si ama, riconoscergli il valore ma al contempo sentirsi prigioniero della sua bellezza…
