Hey Calamity - Ocean In Between Us

Since time immemorial, human beings have almost desperately led themselves towards a search for contact that eradicates loneliness in the first instance. Then love comes along to improve and change the meaning of everything. And distances can be shortened by compacting desire and reality.

Inevitable considerations when you listen to the flagrant and moving new composition by Hey Calamity, a project by Dave Thomas who produces songs as if he were fishing for pearls without a moment's rest. We find ourselves inside the fluidity of guitars elegantly married to melody without sacrificing power: Ocean In Between Us is a praise of contact, presence, bringing one fertile hand inside another, with dreamy vocals as the words touch lightly our heart to cradle it. 

The magnificent final instrumental part is really able to make us fly over the ocean, so that we can get closer to those we love. 

In a few minutes, loneliness is imprisoned, undermined by a reality that peacefully blesses existence.

To do so Hey Calamity welds the whole musical experience with a cloud of notes flying over the water, with colorful confetti to cheer up the oxygen, with shoegaze crackles that feel like an embrace, a powerful drumming which lifts the legs for a dreamy dance, a poignant melody that makes the beats weepy and capable of giving thanks.

A song that brings sunbeams into our dreams, into our dull daily acts, for a strength that this listening can make real.

Another gem which will fill your hearts because Dave, as a sound gentleman, cares for us all to make existence a cradle that opens confidently to the world.

Hey Calamity - Ocean In Between Us

Da sempre gli esseri umani conducono quasi disperatamente se stessi verso la ricerca di un contatto che debelli in prima istanza la solitudine. Poi sopraggiunge l’amore a migliorare e a cambiare il senso di tutto. E le distanze possono essere accorciate compattando desiderio e realtà.

Considerazioni inevitabili ascoltando la flagrante e toccante nuova composizione di Hey Calamity, progetto di Dave Thomas che sforna canzoni come se pescasse perle senza un attimo di sosta. Ci troviamo dentro la fluidità di chitarre sposate elegantemente alla melodia senza rinunciare alla potenza: Ocean In Between Us è un osannare il contatto, la presenza, portare una mano fertile dentro un’altra, con un cantato sognante mentre le parole sfiorano il cuore per cullarlo. 

La spettacolare parte strumentale finale è davvero capace di farci volare sull’oceano per poter avvicinarci a chi amiamo. 

In pochi minuti la solitudine viene imprigionata, scalzata da una realtà che benedice serenamente l’esistenza.

Per farlo Hey Calamity salda tutta l’esperienza musicale con una nuvola di note che sorvola l’acqua, con coriandoli colorati per rallegrare l’ossigeno, con crepitìi Shoegaze che sembrano un abbraccio, un drumming potente che solleva le gambe per una danza sognante, una struggente melodia che rende i battiti piangenti e capaci di ringraziare.

Una canzone che porta raggi solari nei nostri sogni, nei nostri spenti atti quotidiani, per una forza che l’ascolto sa rendere reale.

Un’altra gemma che farcirà i vostri cuori perché Dave, da gentiluomo sonoro, si prende cura di tutti noi per rendere l’esistenza una culla che si apre con fiducia al mondo.
