The poignant beauty of a sonic cataclysm arrives, after a year, in its perfect form, kicking the stars in an unknown outpost, with a deflagrating attitude.
Who governs this meteorite is an Italian line-up from Amsterdam, capable of apocalyptic writing, with nervous petals thickened into a swoosh that surrounds the ear and mind, with a criminal bass (instructed to murder), together with a pelvic guitar (sinister, malodorous and perfect), to sow cyclic tensions, supported by a curved, syncopated, electric, magnetic and blissfully heavy drumming.
And it is a fraudulent dance, with different musical genres called upon to find a moral and gravitational solstice, to deploy, in a tense parade, multiple connections in order to flank the almost funereal enchantment.
The lyrics, excruciating and consequential to the music's steam in ecstasy, invite one to separate oneself from feelings and not to forget what the years have shown, in a lyrical marriage of remarkable depth, thanks also to a singing that perfectly fixes the meaning through a mode of impressive impact.
A trail of planetary damage seems to erupt from this ride, where the wheezing does not present itself, while, instead, a diabolical and dark confidence manifests itself in the grooves of this diamond that, with the post-punk spirit of early Killing Joke and the terrifying magnetic trajectories of the bass that reminds us of Steve Hanley of The Fall, makes it possible to unite with the typical noise-pop fervour, distributing psychedelic magnets in abundance.
Dry, rigid, Twin Spark is capable of becoming a lunar loop, hiding the light to make us smell the scent of darkness waiting to make us shiver with fear.
The orbits reached by the track are those of a place where bowing, hugging and sweaty thanks feed off each other, leading Old Scribe to assert that this is the single of the year for 2024.
Now all that remains is to give in to the addiction of repeated listens, to the temptation to write questions in the vibrating chest and to abandon all perplexity: this gem deserves the invasion of love...
