My Review: Ivy’s Void - Ivy’s Void Ep

Ivy's Void - Ivy's Void Ep

Beauty wears black. Always.

Let's go to Berlin, where this colour is a danger that can be felt and smelt everywhere. There are those, however, who know how to create it without suffering affronts and controversy. For example, Eve's Void, catatonic robots and distributors of contaminated and derivative poison (listen to the beginning of Isolation_Horizon and you will hear the spectres of Kraftwerk's The Model signing off), released in 2016, on the amazing Oraculo Records, this Ep that is nothing if not a sonic concept on the increasingly technological world and therefore suffering from addictions. At least a dozen musical genres claim space and it is for this reason that it is all a blossoming of suggestions, references and much more, for an incredibly compact result. We also find The Cramps in the sumptuous Deranged 43, kept hidden and given over to an almost melancholic but certainly vibrant synthpop.

Sensual and almost psychedelic keyboards challenge the bass, the instrument that leads one to think that Postpunk here is a tireless generator of inspiration!

La bellezza veste di nero. Sempre.

Andiamo a Berlino, dove questo colore è un pericolo che si avverte e si annusa dovunque. C’è chi però sa crearlo senza che possa subire affronti e polemiche. Per esempio gli Eve’s Void, robot catatonici e distributori di veleno contaminato e derivato (ascoltate l’inizio di Isolation_Horizon e sentirete gli spettri di The Model dei Kraftwerk apporre la firma sul consenso), hanno pubblicato nel 2016, per la strepitosa Oraculo Records, questo Ep che nulla è se non un concept sonoro sul mondo sempre più tecnologico e perciò sofferente di dipendenze. Almeno una decina i generi musicali che pretendono spazio ed è per questo motivo che è tutto un fiorire di suggestioni, riferimenti e molto altro ancora, per un risultato incredibilmente di grande compattezza. Ci troviamo pure i The Cramps nella sontuosa Deranged 43, tenuti nascosti e dati in pasto a un synthpop quasi melanconico ma vibrante di certo.

Tastiere sensuali e quasi psichedeliche sfidano il basso, lo strumento che porta a pensare che il Postpunk qui sia un generatore di ispirazioni instancabili!
