Parigi veste elegantemente la notte, con Synth che arrivano da Pornography, ritmi perfetti per una danza macabra, quella che Remi Lauvergne riesce a portare dentro i raggi lunari che non hanno bisogno di molte parole per parlare la lingua della sospensione: gli servono degli approcci quasi gutturali, perché è la chitarra la vera voce che ci informa di come si possa scrivere una canzone con l'aiuto di un talento che sa come non rendere troppo accessibile il suo forziere. Ma sono sufficienti le visioni provocate dall'ascolto, l'allucinazione di suoni compatti che durano centoventicinque secondi per regalare uno spasmo.

Come un lamento perennemente gravido, il brano è un loop emotivo prima ancora che musicale, qualcosa che opprime ma al contempo libera istinti pregni di tossine autunnali, quasi invernali. Ti getti nella stanza per ballare e ti muovi come una marionetta del mercato di Belleville, mentre credi di capire il senso delle sperimentazioni degli Human League di The Dignity Of Labour, dove regnava la sensazione di un nubifragio nelle vene. Ecco, a Remi riesce bene la rievocazione di fantasmi sublimi di un tempo e sta a noi godere di questo gioco di rimandi incantevoli...

 Sad Madona - New Flesh

Paris elegantly dresses up the night, with synths that come from Pornography, perfect rhythms for a macabre dance, the one that Remi Lauvergne manages to bring inside the moonbeams that do not need many words to speak the language of suspension: he needs almost guttural approaches, because it is the guitar that is the real voice that informs us how a song can be written with the help of a talent that knows how not to make its coffer too accessible. But the visions provoked by listening, the hallucination of compact sounds lasting one hundred and twenty-five seconds are enough to give you a spasm.

Like a perpetually pregnant lament, the track is an emotional loop before it is musical, something that oppresses but at the same time liberates instincts full of autumnal, almost winter toxins. You throw yourself into the room to dance and move like a puppet from the Belleville market, while you think you understand the meaning of Human League's experiments in The Dignity Of Labour, where the feeling of a cloudburst reigned in your veins. Here, Remi succeeds well in the evocation of sublime ghosts of yesteryear and it is up to us to enjoy this enchanting game of references...

My Review: Holograma - Holograma

Nothing is more valid than reading, to get in and out of one's own selfish eccentricity. Sometimes it happens that the same effect can arise from listening to an EP, like an exaltation that gets us drunk, discovering that we need to keep in touch amidst a thousand references and the feeling that this band has a mystery on its hands that makes it give it its own merits, that it has plots that are entirely its own.

With Nostalgia we go to Germany, between initial Dark Electro impulses, then it becomes a Synthwave diamond that sweeps us away, inexorably, and it is love at first listen, immediate, generous.

Comunicación is the whole epic of The Sound period, The Chameleons, The Cure and the electronic Ultravox all trying to fit together, and the result is a seismic dance, sublime.

The EP ends with Siento Libertad and it is the trump card: the best track put as the last reveals great tactical intelligence. A few synth notes, a drum machine that shakes, a guitar that arrives slowly but then paralyses, like a romantic gesture with the possibility of killing. And the voice, distant, like a fat, muffled hiss, to complete the enchantment...

Nulla è più valido del leggere, di entrare e uscire dalla propria eccentricità egoistica. A volte accade che lo stesso effetto possa scaturire dall'ascolto di un EP, come una esaltazione che ci ubriaca, scoprendoci bisognosi di mantenere il contatto tra mille rimandi e la sensazione che questa band abbia tra le mani un mistero che fa sì che le si riconoscano meriti personali, di avere trame del tutto sue.

Con Nostalgia si va in Germania, tra impulsi Dark Electro iniziali, poi diventa un diamante Synthwave che ci spazza via, inesorabilmente, ed è amore a primo ascolto, immediato, generoso.

Comunicación è tutta l'epopea del periodo The Sound, The Chameleons, The Cure e gli Ultravox elettronici che provano a stare tutti insieme e il risultato è una danza sismica, eccelsa.

L'EP finisce con Siento Libertad ed è la carta vincente: il brano migliore messo come ultimo rivela una grande intelligenza tattica. Poche note di Synth, una drum machine che scuote, una chitarra che arriva lentamente ma poi paralizza, come un gesto romantico con la possibilità di uccidere. E la voce, lontana, come un sibilo grasso, ovattato, a completare l'incanto…

What would you like to be able to write about the most extraordinary Hungarian band?

Take rags, candles, light sheet metal and fear nothing: start the album and you will find yourself with an anger that has its own logic, a propensity to lose your balance and make your legs a forest full of brambles. The music of Rómeó Veréb, Gergő Vitéz, and Viktor Böcskey is pure adrenalin, non-stop, a liquid contrast of our senses, an electricity of the air that seems to have no desire to land.

Hardcore soul helps, for sure, but then the currents mentioned at the beginning of the review induce reflection. One is stunned not only by clear references, but above all by the way in which the ten punks seem to come: some from the 70s, others from the 80s, with a care for sound that enhances everything as if the songs were played live in our garage at home. Punk establishes a pact of non-belligerence, but pushes to fit in: 'rich dish I'll shove', this is surely the thought of those from the west who would like to take a stand against this music from the east which, mockingly, does not make the line but shows better and more effective weapons. 

Wonder to be repeated, because when listening enters this territory there is always something to learn...

Cosa volete che si possa scrivere sulla più straordinaria band Ungherese?

Si prendano stracci, candele, lamiere leggere senza aver paura di nulla: si faccia iniziare l'album e vi troverete con una rabbia che ha la sua logica, la propensione a perdere l'equilibrio e a fare delle gambe una foresta piena di rovi. La musica di Rómeó Veréb, Gergő Vitéz, e di Viktor Böcskey è pura adrenalina, senza sosta, un liquido di contrasto dei nostri sensi, una elettricità dell'aria che pare non ne voglia sapere di atterrare.

L'anima Hardcore aiuta, sicuramente, ma poi le correnti citate all'inizio della recensione inducono alla riflessione. Si è storditi non solo da riferimenti chiari, ma soprattutto dalla modalità con la quale i dieci pugni sembrano arrivare: alcuni dagli anni '70, altri dagli anni ’80, con una cura del suono che esalta il tutto come se le canzoni fossero suonate dal vivo nel nostro garage di casa. Il punk stabilisce un patto di non belligeranza, ma spinge per potersi inserire: "piatto ricco mi ci ficco", questo è sicuramente il pensiero di chi dall'ovest vorrebbe prendere posizione nei confronti di questa musica proveniente dall'est che, beffardamente, non fa il verso ma mostra armi migliori ed efficaci. 

Meraviglia da ripetere, perché quando l'ascolto entra in questo territorio c'è sempre da imparare…

Cristo Santo: come possiamo dimenticare di ascoltare questo vocabolario gotico? 

Uscito nel 2016, edizione limitata alle anime che adorano gli anfratti, le buche piene di vermi e i dolori che saltano fuori come api incazzate, queste cinque manifeste curve sanguigne di matrice Deathrock furono il sale e il pepe per ferite desiderose di essere contaminate da loro, angeli indiavolati e terribili, spudorati e tremendi. Sono canzoni di abissi e pensieri sconvolti, dentro una ferraglia che porta la band di Chicago sul podio di questo genere musicale che il vecchio scriba semplicemente adora e sublima con la propria devozione. Neanche molte band della Batcave inglese hanno avuto nei loro polsi sangue così avvelenato e conturbante, non hanno avuto il mistero dell'attrazione totale verso alcuni cantieri aperti del dolore. Gli Usa sono ancora i padroni assoluti della disperazione, dell'attrazione per i circuiti mentali che rendono dimentichi i corpi della felicità. E allora tuffatevi nelle scie avvelenate delle chitarre e della voce, ascoltate il basso fuoriclasse che pulsa vetriolo, la batteria che prende a schiaffi con i guanti di pelle e con molte borchie. Si finisce l'ascolto con il pieno di petrolio nel sangue e la macchina vita pronta a farsi un viaggio per le strade di un cimitero di notte…
