My Review: Pillar - Now

 Pillar - Now

The old scribe has never been to Indiana and it's not by listening to Pillar's single that he finds himself able to, because Now is where he's at home, music is like a house built, as it might be for many of you. The whole thing is effortless and then that American state, perhaps, also has this dark melody at its core.

It bumps beautifully into a darkwave guitar that draws the bass into the erotic play of an irrepressible ambuscade, with an ache that seems to thicken along the verse to take flight in a refrain that has the ability to raise a small smile, almost by accident. We are in the middle of Europe, strange, not the US, with this bright purple track from early 80s England, where everything hints and nothing is devoted to exuberance, as it is the balance of all the parts involved that gives this violently sweet...
