Gorodki - Vampire
A dip in the icy waters allows a much faster recovery from fatigue. And given the weight of our efforts, we go for the river Dnepr, in Smolensk, in the Russia you expect capable of performing miracles. The Gorodki project seems perfect to me: we are in the presence of a four-song Ep (The Perfect Girl was the previous single) that knows how to purify our minds by throwing them into the waves now made solid by the cold. The right place to enjoy gothic atmospheres through an excellent performance of that Darkwave that seems to live a second youth in Russia. With vocals that sound as if they were trapped in a freezer and guitars as if they were covered in watered-down wool, the songs deal a heavy blow to the belief that certain arpeggios have exhausted their evocative power: everyone should take a trip south of Moscow...
